Case Reassignment

JustWare's Case Reassignment tool allows you to reassign active case involvements in bulk from one involved person to another. Additionally, you can update the involvement type of the current person assigned.

This tool facilitates case management to meet your changing needs. For example, you can use the Case Reassignment tool when personnel changes occur or when the redistribution of caseloads is needed. With a few selections, you can easily make changes to any number of cases for a currently assigned person.

Reassign a Case

  1. In the Utilities group of the Explorer Toolbar, click Case Reassignment.

    The Case Reassignment Session will open.

  2. Select the agency of the currently assigned person from the drop-down list in the Current Agency field.

    The Current Person drop-down list will populate with all people related to the Current Agency.

  3. Select the current assigned person from the drop-down list in the Current Person field.

    This is the person whose current active cases you wish to reassign. The Active Cases section will populate with all the active cases for the selected Current Person.

  4. If you would like to update the involvement type of the Current Person when you reassign their active cases, select the new involvement type from the drop-down list in the Update Involvement Type of Current Person to field. For example, you could change the involvement of the Current Person from "Lead Prosecutor" to "Former Lead Prosecutor."

    Caution: If you do not select an updated involvement type, then the Current Person will be listed with an inactive date after the reassignment has been performed.

  5. Select the agency of the newly assigned person from the drop-down list in the Newly Assigned Agency field.

    The Newly Assigned Person drop-down list will populate with all people related to the Newly Assigned Agency.

  6. Select the newly assigned person from the Newly Assigned Person list. The Newly Assigned Person is the person who will become involved with the Current Person's active cases.

  7. Select the Active Cases you would like to reassign from the Current Person to the Newly Assigned Person by checking the appropriate check boxes. You can click Select All and Unselect All buttons to aid in your selection process.
  8. In the Actions group of the Explorer Toolbar, click Perform Reassignment.

    A Confirm Reassignment dialog box opens.

  9. Click OK.
