Customizing Default User Settings

  1. In the toolbar of the snap-in to be customized, click the Customize Snap-in button .

    A dialog box appears. Use the available fields to make the desired customizations:

    Dialog Field Description
    Snap-in Name Type the desired display name for the snap-in.
    Snap-in ToolTip Type a short description of how to use the snap-in, or other information relevant to it (2600-character limit). The ToolTip will be displayed when the cursor hovers over the snap-in header tab. ToolTips cannot be edited from Current Record View. It is recommended that when you are finished editing ToolTips, you save a Default User Settings version to avoid losing them. It is also recommended that the Snap-in ToolTip include the shortcut key for the snap-in.
    Visible Select this box to make a field visible in the snap-in; uncheck it to hide a field.
    Field Name This read-only field contains the field name as it is listed in the JustWare database.
    Display Name This read-only field shows how the field name is currently displayed in JustWare.
    ToolTip Type a short description of how to use the field, or other information relevant to it (2600-character limit). The ToolTip will be displayed when the cursor hovers over the column header. ToolTips cannot be edited from Current Record View. It is recommended that when you are finished editing ToolTips, you save a Default User Settings version to avoid losing them.
  2. When finished, click OK.

    The custom settings immediately appear in the snap-in.

    Caution: To make these changes permanent and ensure that your custom settings are saved, you must proceed with the following steps. If you do not complete these steps, you will lose your custom settings the next time your user settings are cleared.

  3. Open the Admin landing page and navigate to Account Management > Default User Settings.

  4. Add a new record.
  5. Fill out any relevant information in the following fields:

    Field Description
    Name Type a name for the new custom settings.
    Agency Select the agency that will use these custom settings from the drop-down list.
    Force update If you select this check box, affected users will receive the update the next time they log in.
    Force Date This read-only field lists the date the custom settings were last forced to be updated for all members of the agency.
    Notes Type any relevant notes about the custom settings.
    Created By This read-only field displays the name of the creator of the custom settings.
    Created On This read-only field lists the date the custom settings were created.
    Last Modified By This read-only field displays the name of the person who last modified the custom settings.
    Last Modified On This read-only field lists the date that the custom settings were last modified on.
  6. Save the session.
